In the 2026-27 academic year, I'll be running an interdisciplinary seminar on doubt at the University of Glasgow. Description below:
Doubt, Distrust, and Disinformation seminar series
This interdisciplinary seminar series explores how doubt and distrust are cultivated, and the effects that they have, from the level of individual cognition to societal (dys)function. Speakers from various disciplines, including Philosophy, Psychology and Neuroscience, Politics, and Sociology, will present cutting-edge research on such topics as conspiratorial thinking, bias and prejudice, navigating trust online, the cognitive and social effects of generative AI, and the effects of mis- and disinformation on our political environments.
Seminars will be held in room 386AB of the Adam Smith building, at 3-5PM on Thursdays. The speaker list is below, and titles will be added as they are available:
